Enter an estimated required_tons value; the calculator names the smallest class on this site’s ladder (6, 12, or 20 ton) that clears that estimate. It is not a force calculation for rusted, seized, or corroded parts, and it is not a substitute for manufacturer instructions.

Above about 20 ton, shops often look toward a 50 ton class. Those are shopping heuristics, not lab measurements of your specific part.

If required_tons is greater than 20, this site returns NO_MATCH for its published class ladder. Typical next step discussed in garage media: a higher-rated press (often 50 ton class). Do not force an undersized 20 ton consumer press for a job you already believe needs more.
